Sectional Garage Doors

The size of the sectional garage door is expressed as the internal frame size.

Sectional doors usually fit on the rear of the brick pillars

On most sectional doors the space needed on the back of the pillars is a minimum 90mm each side of the door width
Most sectional doors come complete with the 90mm steel frame (i.e. 2 uprights and a crossbar)

Carteck Sectional Doors

The headroom required on all Carteck sectional doors (manual or automatic) is 115mm. The side room required on the rear of the brickwork opening is 90mm each side of the door width.

Insulated Roller Shutter Classic (77mm Slat) Doors

CLASSIC 77mm Slat
Headroom needed for box which houses roll is 300mm square. Doors over 3m high have 360mm square boxes. Doors under 2150mm high have 250mm boxes.
Side room for guides minimum 90mm. 70mm guides available for restricted space applications.
Usually this type of door is fitted on the rear of the brick pillars and behind the lintel. Part or all of the box can show below the lintel if headroom available is restricted. N.B. This will reduce drive-through height.

The Insulated Roller Doors are made to measure (at no additional cost). They are generally fitted onto the rear of the brick pillars with the guides and box hidden behind the pillars and lintel. If headroom is limited then the lower portion of the box can sit below the lintel. It doubles up as a facia. The guides can also protrude into the opening if required.

Insulated Roller Shutter Compact (55mm Slat) Doors

COMPACT 55mm Slat
Headroom needed for box which houses roll is 250mm square. Doors under 2400mm high have 205mm square boxes.
Side room for guides minimum 68mm. 53mm guides available for restricted space applications.
Usually this type of door is fitted on the rear of the brick pillars and behind the lintel. Part or all of the box can show below the lintel if headroom available is restricted. N.B. This will reduce drive-through height.

Side-Hinged Garage Doors

The Carteck insulated side-hinged garage door is a made-to-measure product (at no extra cost). The two door leaves come pre-installed to a sturdy goalpost frame ready for quick on-site installation. Simply measure the brickwork opening width and height using the Self Survey Form and we will calculate the correct size and price for you.
